The "Sustainable Nexus Award 2025" ceremony was successfully held recently at Harbour Plaza Hotel - The Grand Lisboa in North Point. The event was honored to have Dr. Bernard Chan, JP, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Dr. CHUI Ho Kwong, Samuel, JP, Director of the Environmental Protection Department, officiate, joining over 300 industry leaders, award-winning company representatives, and professionals to witness this important milestone for Hong Kong's catering industry in the field of sustainable development.

The ceremony commenced at 5 p.m. with a cocktail party and a green technology exhibition, where industry representatives exchanged experiences in sustainable development practices in a relaxed atmosphere. During the evening awards ceremony, over sixty awards were presented to recognize companies and organizations that excelled in ten areas: innovative environmental technology, circular economy practices, green procurement, green production, sustainable supply chain management, low-carbon diet promotion, sustainable solutions, energy emission reduction, sustainable design and packaging innovation, employee welfare, and green workplaces.






This award was organized by the Hong Kong Smart Catering Association, and co-organized by the Hong Kong Retail Technology Association, the Modern Management (Catering) Professional Association, and many well-known enterprises. Officiating guests, Deputy Secretary for Food and Beverage, JP Chan and Dr. Ho-kwong Tsui, JP, affirmed the catering industry's efforts in promoting sustainable development, pointing out that "the combination of technological innovation and environmental protection concepts is a crucial driving force for Hong Kong's construction of a green city."



The ceremony featured a sustainability practice demonstration area showcasing the innovative solutions of the award-winning companies in energy conservation, waste reduction, resource recycling, and green operations. These included cutting-edge applications such as smart energy management systems, eco-friendly packaging design, and food waste conversion technology, providing practical references and inspiration for the industry.


With over sixty awards presented, this year's awards not only witnessed the remarkable achievements of Hong Kong's catering industry on the path to sustainable development, but also set a practical benchmark for the industry. The Hong Kong Smart Catering Association will continue to promote related activities, foster industry exchange and cooperation, and help Hong Kong build a more resilient green catering ecosystem.
